AJ Squared

Drew (Andrew Jerrod) and I (Andrea Jean) recently did a painting for our friend Melissa, to give to her brother as a wedding present. It was something new for the both of us. We have done splatter type paintings in the past, but never anything like this. Melissa gave us a black and white photograph taken of her brother and his new wife, on one of their first dates. What's going on? A friend stuck a camera under the dinner table when she suspected the couple of holding hands.

PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED

I had been working on a Photojournalism ad last quarter for "PUNSIH THE DEED NOT THE BREED", and I thought the topic would be a nice addition to the blog.

Meet Walter. He is our beloved dog who Drew's mom, Julie, saved a couple a couple of years ago. He was just a little pup at the time, and was going to be put down just because he's Pit. This guy is awesome. He's the most loving, funny, happy and handsome dog I've ever known. Just look at him. Your heart will melt and your mind will forever be changed about this breed.

www.pitbulllovers.com has a list of facts about these dogs they think everyone should know.

Here are a few....

1. Pit Bulls are commonly used as therapy dogs. Whether they are visiting a senior care facility or helping someone recover from an emotional accident, Pit Bulls are making a mark as outstanding therapy dogs.

2. Pit Bulls are used in Search and Rescue work. One example of well known SAR Pit Bulls is Kris Crawford and her dogs. Kris and her dogs have helped save the lives of many people during their efforts. http://www.ForPitsSake.org

3. Pit Bulls are great with kids. They weren't referred to as the "nanny's dog" for nothing that's for sure.

4. The Pit Bull was so popular in the early 1900's they were our mascot not only in World War One, but World War Two as well. They were featured on recruiting and propoganda posters during this time period.

5. Pit Bulls score an 83.4% passing rate with the American Temperament Test Society. That's better than the popular Border Collie (a breed who scores 79.6%).

They were nannys!
